Oslob is a small coastal town located in the southern part of Cebu Island, Philippines. It is famous for its whale shark watching activities which draw thousands of tourists every year. Oslob is located approximately 117 km from Cebu City and can be reached by bus or private transportation.
Aside from the whale sharks, Oslob has a rich history that dates back to the early 16th century when it was first established as a Spanish settlement. The town is known for its heritage structures such as the Baluarte (Watchtower), which was built in the 1788 to protect the town from pirates and Moro raids. The Church of the Immaculate Concepcion, which was originally built in 1830, is another notable landmark in the town.
