Benidorm - Information
Benidorm is a coastal city located on the eastern coast of Spain, in the province of Alicante. It is well-known for being a popular holiday destination, especially among visitors from northern Europe. The roots of Benidorm go back to the 13th century when it was founded as a small fishing village. Yet, it wasn't until the 1950s that the city started to gain popularity among tourists.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Benidorm is its unique skyline which is dominated by tall skyscrapers. The city's impressive vertical growth is a result of the fact that it is situated in a narrow bay, surrounded by mountains on three sides. This has led to the development of high-rise buildings that offer breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. At the same time, Benidorm has a charming Old Town, located on a hill above the city center. Here, visitors can wander through the narrow streets of the historic quarter, admire the traditional Mediterranean architecture, and enjoy the local cuisine.
Another interesting fact about Benidorm is that it is home to some of the best beaches in Spain. Two of its most famous beaches, Levante and Poniente, stretch for several kilometers and are frequented by visitors from around the world. These beaches are well-equipped with facilities such as showers, sun loungers, parasols, and water sports centers. Additionally, Benidorm is famous for its lively nightlife, sophisticated restaurants, and vibrant cultural scene. The city has a wide range of entertainment options, from classic Spanish music and dance performances to modern international events.
